The Prologue.....
Using Internet Explorer?
When you first entered our site you may have got a warning bar across the top of your screen, saying something like.... "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer".
And it looks like this...

And even mine does it, so you are not alone!
So... Why does it happen?
The 'active content' that Internet Explorer is blocking is called Java script, and it's the magic that displays our news bar (and one or two of the item pages), makes it work and keeps it up to date... it isn't dangerous, malicious or nasty... It won't even try to drink your tea while your not looking. You can allow the blocked Java script to work by clicking (not surprisingly) where it says 'Click here for options' and choosing 'Allow blocked content...' You'll then probably get a warning window asking if you really, really want to do that... say yes... and *ZAP* you can see our news bar!
If you really don't want to allow java script, you can still happily use the site... you just won't be able to see the pretty, pretty news bar that everyone else can... and the side bar may look a bit weird.
The Home Page
Isn't it pretty! (Well I think it is, so there! :P)
Here is an amaaaazing little picture of (approximately) what the Knottwood home page looks like, which you must have seen at least once to be here, reading this.
Anyway, the numbered features are explained beneath....
1. Our Name, It doesn’t do anything, but we like it.
2. These little white links are for our information pages... they are very useful! And are described in more detail later on.
3. The main buttons, these are the ones you click to get your paws on our items! These are also explained in detail later on (You have a lot to look forward to don't you )
4. Our logo!
5. The latest news of items, sales, and our hijinks in the real world.
6. A little introduction to the world of knottwood, or maybe a current competition or whatever....
7. The < MORE > buttons, you'll see one of these after a snippet of news or description, click them to see the full page.
8. The newest item to be added to our site, click the <MORE> to see the item page.
9. The featured items, three items we have selected from around the site for special attention! Click the thumbnail (small picture) or the <MORE> to go to the items page.
10. The search bar, here you can search knottwood, or the whole Web!
11. The 'View Basket' button, click it to check what items you have added to your basket. It will open in a new page. (Buying is explained in much, much, much more detail later)
12. The obligatory copyright notice
